A long list of books

This list has been claimed to be BBC´s top 100 books to read. Thats not entirely correct. About half of them star the British top 100 favorite books, voted by the public, and the others have been changed/added by who knows who. Also, they say that BBC thinks most people have only read six of the books on this list. BBC never said such a thing either.

I thought I had read Jane Austen, but perhaps I have only seen movies? Several of the books on the list made me wonder if I had read it myself or simply watched it on a screen, like Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha, Lord of the Flies, Dracula and A Christmas Carol.

  1. Id recommend Wuthering Heights. But I've read a few chapters of Pride and Prejudice and I'd recommend it as well...possibly Atonement. I've only seen the movie. And I'd remove Lolita and A Clockwork Orange from the list entirely.

  3. I would definitely try Mere Christianity in Norwegian, it's too good of a book to miss! :-) I would also suggest "A Wrinkle in Time." That book has to be in my top ten list for books that have influenced me.
