Eritrean wedding video

So much joy, music and life - this wedding looks amazing! I have been to Ethiopia, and some of the culture is similar, so it was fun to see the celebration in a Canadian setting.

Songs for Colorado

Yesterday I had a moment of missing my friends in Colorado. But I also discovered these Songs for Colorado by Gungor, and the sounds and pictures filled my heart with joy.

Download the EP for free, or give a tip to the relief fund for flood victims in Colorado.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Paperman: of cubicles, paper, and love

Happy weekend everyone. I am deep-cleaning my kitchen today (sounds like fun huh?), but found this one to start the day. Doesn´t get cuter than this!

Music for your weekend: Eine Blume

I am lucky to know some amazing musicians. The husband and wife duo "Eine Blume" has recorded two albums that are both close to my heart. Right now, they are featured on Noisetrade, and you can get your very own copy of the amazing "Ennå er det håp Fru Ahlgren" for free!

Here is a sample for you: "Song for Walt".

Follow this link to listen more and download: Noisetrade/eineblume
This is only for a limited time, so make sure you check it out soon.

I need to get my bike out

Samuji Fall Winter 2012 from Samu-Jussi Koski on Vimeo.

Pretty, huh?

Blogging has not been on my agenda lately. Im not sure why, but summer has been busy and I have prioritized other things. Perhaps now, that fall is right around the corner, I´ll be back? Instagram has kept my attention lately, you can find me as rferstad if you´d like.

PS. Here is another bike related post.

Life as a reporter

Kristin deler frå sine første dagar i Newcastle. Eg hadde mest lyst å bli igjen å luke saman med teamet, men hadde lagt igjen støvlane heime...

News from Newcastle

First video blog from Newcastle. Im helping out behind the camera. It is the first time we have a media team on an outreach like this, so we never know what our day will be like. Yesterday I went to the beach with a team from Fræna and their host church, City Church Newcastle. We follow Tom, one of the participants, on his adventures in Newcastle, and there will be more later on this week.

Ragnhild Englandsfarar

Today is the day when 300 Norwegians go to England for the Olympic outreach. And as the title suggests, I am one of them. For the next 10 days I will be a part of a media team, covering the events YWAM is a part of in Newcastle and the surrounding area. The video above introduces the theme of the outreach: Zoom.

A viking ship is already on its way, they set out from Brest, France yesterday and will arrive for a gigantic celebration downtown Newcastle Sunday July 29. Here is Terje Konradsens first entry in the viking ship travel diary!

If you want to follow the adventures of 300 young people sharing faith and serving the communities in Newcastle, you can follow us on twitter, blog, facebook and maybe in a newspaper near you!

Simon Says

This winter video has nothing to do with the amazing summer weather we have had the last week. Lazy days on the beach and in the sun are so great! But sometimes I need a break inside to recover from the heat, and Laleh´s voice is good company after all that crazy Eurovision music last night. Since she is Swedish, this is the perfect, though unintentional, tribute to the winners: Congratulations Sweden!

PS. This one is great too, and a little more suitable for the season: Vårens första dag

Ethiopia Project

This is what I am a part of - providing schooling for children in Ethiopia! Five years ago I went there with a team myself. (See my 2007 archives for the stories) We visited the first school we built, met the children there and worked on the grounds.

Now, our DTS teams just returned from outreach, and brought me greetings from one of the pastors we worked with then. It makes me happy to think about the wonderful people we met there, and it is so inspiring to see the result of what we do and the effect it can have on communities.

Video made by Tim and some of my co-workers in Skien.

The vikings are coming, take 5

This summer, I am going to England for the Olympic outreach with YWAM. In this video, filmed onboard the viking ship Gaia, you will see a real viking that will go as well.

You might notice that I am making this without a script, but five takes were all I could manage, so bear with me.

Oh, you want to join me to England?

Put the lights on the tree

We got a couple of days of winter wonderland and I made sure I took in the sight. I wish it would stay like this, but that would take a miracle.

It is time to decorate the tree. In this house we wait till the 23rd with the Christmas decoration, and I will not let it happen before! And with that I can finally say:

Merry Christmas my friends!!

On a slightly different note;
here is an obscure Christmas cartoon by mr. Stevens.

29. The first snowfall of the winter

Yesterday evening I stepped out the front door as the first snowflakes fell. It felt a little magical.

Unfortunately, I cant find the original source for the photo, I could only track it back to here.

A look at RISK

Yesterday we had a celebration at the base. The reason: the accomplishment of sending teams to every nation in Europe at the same time, with the same purpose. Here is a little peek into what it looked like.

A big thank you to Jaanika and Mike who put this little video together!
